The program is designed to provide a fun and safe skating experience for the beginner. It is designed to teach correct technique of the basic elements of skating and to develop a finer degree of coordination and balance.

Ages Requirements

There are no age restrictions.  All sessions are available for Tots through Adults.  Groups are formed on the ice by age and skating ability.

Equipment and Clothing Needed

All children under the age of 7 are REQUIRED to wear a helmet during lessons.  Skate Rental is included but wearing your own skates is BEST!  Properly fitted skates are essential for improvement.  You can visit "Hat Trick Hockey Pro Shop" located in the rink to be fitted for skates.  All children should dress warmly.  Kids should wear gloves, coats or warm sweatshirts and wind suit pants.

How many sessions do I take?

The super session package is the ideal way to effectively learn the basic skills needed for improvement. Mastering ice skating skills will vary with sessions needed and the individual.  See discount details below.

What can I do after Learn to Skate?

Junior Club Program: Bridge program from Learn to Skate to competitive figure skating

Private Lessons: Are available with one of our certified instructors for figure skating or Ice Hockey.

Learn to Play Hockey:  Learn the fundamentals of the game.  Pre-requisite: minimum 2 Learn to Skate sessions.  Must be able to skate forwards, backwards, and stop.

Bring a Buddy

Bring a Buddy to the second session for free when enrolled in a 7 week session.

Parent/Tot Classes

Available for parents with a skater 5 & under only.  Parents can attend class with their child for $6 fee per session which includes rentals.
